Purim Overview:
The story of Purim is found in the Bible in the Book of Esther. Purim is celebrated by each year and commemorates Israel’s victory over their enemies. The hero of the story is a young Hebrew girl named Hadassah (Esther). She was taken from her family and into the King’s house. Eventually, she became the Queen of Persia. She showed great courage and thwarted the genocide of her people by an evil man named, Haman.
