Our Beginnings

Beit Tehila is a Hebrew term that means “house of honest praise.”

• We are a community of believers in Yeshua (Jesus) that teach the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith.
• We are led by the Holy Spirit and are a Spirit-filled congregation.
• We teach the Bible through the arts (dancing, drama, singing, etc.)
• We love God.
• We love each other.

This is where the vision of Beit Tehila started.

The Beit Tehila Community was founded in 1991 by Randy and Lori; also known as Tikvah Dryer along with their two daughters Danielle and Dina.

In 1977 As a newly married couple, Randy and Lori accepted and gave their hearts to Yeshua, as their Lord and Savior, at the young age of twenty-one. With their newfound zeal for God, they were soon baptized in water, filled with the Holy Spirit with the gift of speaking in tongues, gifts flowing, and loving God. Not too long after, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters Danielle and Dina. From the very beginning of their faith walk, their love for Israel and the Jewish people grew as they searched the scripture. In 1989, God began to give them, as a family a deeper hunger for the things of God. They were led to a church that confirmed what God was speaking to their hearts; prophetic dreams and words were spoken over them both that God was birthing a ministry through them, and the calling of the office of the Pastor was on their lives. This started the restoration of things long ago…

Isaiah 58:12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

The Lord moved on Lori to restore dance back to the church; where it belonged. From there, the “The Daughters of Zion” Hebraic dance ministry was birthed. Through dance, God’s word was ministered to the hearts of many during times of worship. The dance team ministry began traveling to other churches, ministered at conferences, and has danced all over the land of Israel. As men begin to join the dance ministry, the name was changed to “Tabernacles of Praise.” 

Psalm 150:1 Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. 2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. 3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, 4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

Pastors Randy and Lori received the conviction and leadership of the Holy Spirit to start celebrating the Appointed Feast of the Lord, and teaching other believers to do the same. God was strongly urging them to return to Him, and His instruction outlined in the Word of God; the Torah, an everlasting covenant. Yes, Gods covenant is relevant for today! God aligned them to meet and fellowship with like-minded people who were hearing the same voice. 

Leviticus 23:2 “Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.”

Genesis 26:4-5 “And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”

Hebrews 8:8 “For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:” 9 “Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.”10 “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:”

As the progressive revelation continued, the Lord spoke to their hearts about the restoration of the Sabbath, and how others also would return to the sabbath. They also received an unction to find a place where they and others could fellowship and worship together. God’s restoration was taking place in their hearts as they walked forward in faith on this new mission.

Genesis 2:2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

While meeting in their home on a regular basis with likeminded people, the leadership in their lives saw the calling of God and encouraged them to move forward and commissioned them by the laying on of hands and prayer.

Eventually their love for Israel brought them to the land on their first trip in 1994. This trip changed their lives forever. Because of their experience and desired to share with others, they have been hosting trips and taking others to experience the land of promise ever since.  

Genesis 13:14-15 14 The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.

After meeting at seven different locations and continued growth in the amount of people who fellowshipped with them, The Lord finally nudged Randy and Lori to find a permanent home for the ministry He’d entrusted them with. The next stage to becoming a legitimate community was finding a place to worship, choosing a name, and getting a website. This really challenged their faith, but they moved forward following the leadership of The Holy Spirit. This process began in 1996, and the name of the community that was given to them was, Beit Tehila which means house of praise; house of honest praise to be exact. By 2002, land was purchased and the first worship service held was in October for the Feast of Tabernacles. 

After settling into their permanent worship location, things took an abrupt turn when Pastor Randy was diagnosed with cancer; he went on to be with the Lord on November 17, 2002. Earlier that year however, Pastor Randy felt the need to ordain Nicholas Plummer; Randy and Lori’s son-in-law as a Pastor to help in the ministry. Who would of thought that Pastor Randy would be taken away so soon?  During some of Pastor Randy’s teachings, he would say, “if anything were to happen to me, Beit Tehila is going forward. Why? Because Beit Tehila belongs to YHVH!” Pastor Randy was a vessel used by God to pioneer Beit Tehila, then return to The One he taught others about. During the time of Randy’s sickness, God told Lori to take the name Tikvah; the name given to her at her baptism in the Jordan river during her first visit to Israel. In obedience to God she told the community of Beit Tehila to start calling her by that name. Tikvah in Hebrew means full of hope. She thought God was giving her that name to have faith to hope for her husband’s healing here on earth, but she soon learned that the hope God was giving her was the promise and hope of eternal life! She shared this at her husband’s home-going celebration and brought hope to the Beit Tehila Community.   

1 Thessalonians 4:13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.

Titus 1:2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, 3 and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,
