September 2016 – Monthly Newsletter

Children of the Promise at Beit Tehila

Monthly Newsletter from Pastor Nick Plummer

Dear Mishpacha (Family),

This fall season at Beit Tehila promises to be packed full of events and opportunities. We will be kicking off the month of September with not only “The Season of Teshuvah”, but a Daniel Fast as well. The word “teshuvah” literally means to return and is the word used to describe the concept of repentance. The Season of Teshuvah consists of the month Elul, the sixth month and ten days in Tishrei, the seventh month in the Hebrew calendar (September 3rd to October 12th). Community of Beit Tehila Congregation

Repentance means more than just turning from one’s sins; it is a return to God and to the right path. Yeshua (Jesus) wants us to get it right with each other as well as with God. In Matthew 5:23-24 Yeshua said, “Therefore if you bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” The Season of Teshuvah is a time for each person to annually examine their own life. The process can be found in Daniel 12:10, “Many shall be purified (examine yourself), and made white (take correction), and tried (refine/test); but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” It is a time to restore relationships between one other as well as with God.

The Daniel Fast is going to be from September 4th-24th and it will allow us to deny ourselves and concentrate on the Season of Teshuvah. Fasting for a spiritual purpose can give us breakthroughs that otherwise could not happen. Shalom, Pastor Nick

Inside Story at Beit Tehila

In this month’s Inside Story, we will be taking a closer look at how the families of Beit Tehila prepare for the Season of Teshuvah (Repentance).

We would like to introduce you to the Cabrera family. If you have ever walked through the doors of Beit Tehila, you have probably met this wonderful family. They oversee our Greeters Ministry and enjoy teaching our children in the nursery and youth ministry. Ryan and Ashley Cabrera have been attending Beit Tehila for almost three years and have a sincere passion for the Lord.

As we are preparing for the Season of Teshuvah, we asked Ryan and Ashley to Season of Yeshivah at Beit Tehila Communityshare their thoughts and experiences on how this season has changed their life. When I asked how the Season of Teshuvah has changed his life, Ryan says, “I remember last year and the time leading up to Yom Kippur. I felt like this season was preparing me for an appointment with the Lord. When the day of Yom Kippur arrived, it was like nothing was keeping me from Him.” Ashley said, “This season really reminds me to return, refocus, and release things that need to go. This season has really brought us closer together as a family.” Ryan said, “This season has brought us closer together as a family unit. It has given us a hyper focus on the Lord and seeking after Him. It is has brought us spiritually into one accord.” How would you explain this season to someone who has never experienced the Season of Teshuvah? Ashley said, “If you let God take you on a journey and return; the Lord will refresh you, mold you and give you a renewed purpose.” The Season of Teshuvah is a time for each of us to examine our lives and return to the Lord. It is a time to restore relationships between each other as well as the Lord. We encourage you to take part in this Season of Teshuvah.

The Season of Teshuvah will take place from September 3rd- October 12th. If you have questions or would like more information, please call our ministry office at 813-654-2222 or visit us online at www.ToPraise.net.

Pastor Paul Pickerning at Beit Tehila

Pastor Paul Pickern  |   September 10th

We would like to welcome Pastor Paul Pickern to Beit Tehila. Pastor Paul is the Founder of Paul-and-Linda-Pickern-300x279All Pro Pastors Ministry, a ministry that encourages and challenges Pastors to join together as Kingdom Brothers to develop trust, accountability and unity. It is a ministry that strengthens Pastors marriages, families, and ministries by establishing “Champions Table’s”. The “Champions Table” is a safe place where Pastors can meet together and develop genuine relationships.

Paul felt the call on his life at a very early age. He never had a desire to become a Pastor
only to obey God whom he was called by and instructed. He has studied and taught God’s word for years and been a revivalist according to some.

Pastor Paul Pickern is married to his wife Linda. They have 5 children (Tony, Stephanie, Dale, Seth, Schyler) and 11 grand children. Paul’s wife Linda is a vital part of the ministry too. She minister’s to pastor wives and hosts a website/blog called “Women R Champions“. The many women in ministry throughout the world are connected thru this women directed ministry.

We invite you to come and join us of this special teaching by Pastor Paul Pickern on September 10th at 11:00am.
